In my opinion, there couldn’t be a more appropriate setting for a Bridgerton afternoon tea in London than The Lanesborough, with its Georgian tearoom, ceiling windows, and ornate panelling.

Not to mention the hotel is home to its resident cat, Lilibet, who can often be found in the drawing room and has become somewhat of a celebrity among visitors.

Inspired by season four of Bridgerton, the new afternoon tea takes its aesthetic cues from elements of the show, with a strong emphasis on masquerade themes inspired by the famous ball scene in episode one of the season.

After selecting our teas and starting off with a glass of fizz, we kicked it off with a round of savouries.

Savouries included Westcombe cheddar with spring onion aioli, Scottish smoked salmon with citrus crème fraîche, spicy harissa chicken with basil, cucumber, avocado and mint, and a slider on a truffled potato bun.

Then came the obligatory scones, served with fresh cream and jam, along with a range of sweet treats themed around the imagery of the show.

Lady in Silver stole the show for me, delicate, fresh, and elegantly adorned with edible pearls and a chocolate masquerade mask.

Its light lemon sponge and yuzu cream made it a truly refined centrepiece, capturing the glamour of a Regency masquerade.

Benedict’s Masquerade offered a more indulgent mix of flavours, layering rich chocolate and tonka mousse with hazelnut praline. The tiny chocolate mask on top was a delightful touch, showing the care and attention to detail in every bite.

Let Love Take Flight was more tart, with a decorative stamp on top, while Cottage Bloom packed the boldest punch of flavour, with vibrant notes of ginger and green apple.

Finally, the tea was complemented by The Forbidden Love cocktail, crowned with a tiny decorative black mask perfect for photos, with a beautifully balanced palate of vanilla, lemon, and floral soda.

Running from 29 January 2026, the tea is priced at £92 per person, with options at £102 with a cocktail or £110 with a glass of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Champagne. Children under 12 can enjoy a specially designed menu for £55.
