Boots shoppers are praising an £11 face mask they say is “worth every penny.” The health and beauty retailer is selling the Versed Doctors Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask for £11, down from £16.50.
The resurfacing mask is said to be a “pot of gold” treatment featuring AHA, BHA and enzyme exfoliation. It aims to tackle hyperpigmentation and boost cell turnover to give an “instant glow.”
The full product description reads: “Pro-grade results you don’t need an appointment for—just two minutes. A literal pot of gold featuring a triple-threat of AHA, BHA, and enzyme exfoliation, this resurfacing mask tackles hyperpigmentation and boosts cell turnover for brighter, smoother, rejuvenated skin. The glycolic and lactic acids dissolve dull, dead skin and help fade dark spots, while salicylic acid minimizes the appearance of pores and redness.
“And that instant glow is all thanks to vitamin C-rich pineapple and papaya enzymes, which gently remove the outer layer of dead skin cells that trap bacteria and sebum, all the while moisturizing and softening skin. No tingling, no burning, just a post-facial glow in a flash with results that build week after week.”
The product has an overall rating of 4.3 stars out of five, with almost 250 five star reviews. Among them, one person said: “Versed – the best mask ever in my humble opinion!! I love this product. I use it once a week. Whenever I use it, I can see the difference to skin, it gives me a radiant glow.”
A second wrote: “I bought this two weeks ago, have used it 3 times and love how my skin feels! It goes on smooth, only stays for 2-3 minutes, washes right off, and doesn’t dry out my skin like many masks. I have noticed an improvement in my redness and ruddiness. Thank you!”
A third added: “Bought this yesterday after noticing a ton of uneven texture on my face in my vacation photos. One use and the results are astonishing. My skin is much more even and dark spots have lightened substantially. Excited to add this staple to my skincare routine.”
Another shopper added: “Worth every penny. This is probably the best exfoliant I have ever tried. Every other product causes breakouts or sensitivity. I use this for exactly 3 minutes and it instantly makes my skin feel smooth.
“Also, the next morning my active breakouts calm down. It has helped reduce my hyperpigmentation by at least 30% after just two uses. I was very sceptical of all the praise this product was receiving and I did not truly believe it will work. But it does work!! Instantly!!
“It is a miracle that it is gentle, does not burn my skin, causes zero irritation, and yet faded hyperpigmentation like an actual chemical peel. The texture of the product is amazing as well and spreads very easily on the skin. I will be buying this again and recommending it to others as well.”
However, not all shoppers were quite so impressed and said the product was “not worth the hype.” One person wrote: “Used it for about 2 months, I’ve seen no effect of the product after application overall after all this time. It might be extremely gentle and subtle, so maybe it does something for very sensitive skin. To me, it was a waste of money and I can find better products.”
A second said: “Not worth the hype. Was so excited for this in the mail but was very disappointed with the formula. Skin looked rough the next day – red and irritated.”
