Our sister site London Now reports that in a letter to families dated February 23, Beacon High said it was urgently alerting parents to a dangerous social media campaign circulating on TikTok under the title “North London War.”

The school said the campaign targets pupils from Year 7 to Year 11 and encourages coordinated violence between students from different local schools.

According to the letter, posts divide pupils into “Red” and “Blue” teams and incite followers to “hunt” students from opposing schools, physically assault them, and film the attacks to post online for points.

The letter reads: “We want to be very clear: this is not a joke, and this is not ‘banter’.

“This is a deliberate attempt to coordinate physical harm within our community.”

The school said the following dates had been identified as planned “rounds”, with one scheduled for today (February 27), and the rest on March 2, March 4, March 5 and March 6.

As students return to school, Beacon High said it is reiterating strict safeguarding protocols to ensure pupil safety.

Parents were told students must not carry compasses, metal combs or rulers except for strictly supervised classroom use, as such everyday items are being encouraged as weapons within the trend.

The warning comes as similar “Red vs Blue” posts have circulated across multiple London boroughs under titles including “Croydon War” and “South London Wars,” prompting increased police patrols and school alerts.

In Greenwich, a Section 35 dispersal order is in place until 10pm.

The Metropolitan Police have said they are monitoring online activity linked to the trend and remain in contact with schools across several boroughs to offer reassurance.

Officers have previously stressed they will respond firmly to any reports of violence or disorder and have requested the removal of social media accounts where threats were identified.

Police continue to treat the circulating posts as a potential disorder risk rather than confirmed organised events, but schools across London have urged parents to speak to their children and report any concerns.
