In a new list from Time Out, the outlet ranked the 18 best pizzas in the world, seeing spots from New York, Rome, Tokyo, and London featured.

The list features the “weirdest, tastiest and most lip-smacking pizzas” from each corner of the world.

For London, Time Out named Short Road Pizza as the third-best pizza in the world.

You can see the full list of the world’s best pizza via Time Out.

The London pizzeria ranked the 3rd best in the world

Short Road Pizza does not have its own restaurant but rather has two residencies at Exale Brewery’s two east London pubs, with William the Fourth in Leyton and The Colts in Bethnal Green.

The pizza spot was founded in Leytonstone by couple, Ugo and Kate, in a bid to create a perfect pizza.

Time Out describes Short Road Pizza as the “perfect no-flop pizza” with it being a “mixture of crispy Romana-style pizza with Chicago thin crust”.

They added: “Their Mariana is exquisite, with dollops of creamy garlic squidge, fresh anchovies, and a blast of spice from glowing chimichurri”.

In November 2025, Short Road Pizza won the award for the National Pizza of the Year at the National Pizza Awards.

Short Road Pizza is “not just about pizza”, with a key focus on serving ” indulgent sides such as crispy Sicilian potatoes with lemon zest and pecorino, cheesy arancini”, and more, according to the business’s website.

The London establishment also has a ” commitment to local, sustainable ingredients”, which is at the heart of what they do, with “premium toppings sourced from trusted farms”.

What do visitors think of Short Road Pizza?

On Google Reviews, Short Road Pizza has an impressive 4.6/5 rating from more than 50 reviews.

One recent guest said, “Delicious pizza with a well-baked crust and high-quality toppings.

“The vibe is casual and welcoming, and the service is warm and efficient”.

Another happy visitor wrote: “Finally!! Authentic Thin Crust Romana-style Pizza has arrived in London.
