Wirral Council needs to ‘urgently’ tackle ‘significant weaknesses’ in its finances, governance and effective use of resources, auditors have warned.
A raft of statutory recommendations to improve have been made in an independent auditor’s report by Grant Thornton, which will be presented to the local authority’s audit and risk management committee this week.
