Wallace & Gromit were stars of your screen last Christmas as they fought off the mighty Feathers McGraw in Vengeance Most Foulbut now they’ve turned their attention to London’s art & culture scene. The pair have been exploring the Young V&A to break the news that they’ll be part of an exhibition landing at the space in early 2026.

Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Aardmanthe creators of Wallace & Gromitthe exhibition will give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at their favourite TV pair, as well as characters from the likes of Chicken Run, Shaun The Sheepand more.

Inside Aardman: Wallace & Gromit and Friends

Running from February 12 until November 26, 2026, Inside Aardman: Wallace & Gromit and Friends lands at the Young V&A to give its fans of the beloved stop-motion characters a chance to see them brought to life. You can expect a variety of activities scattered around the exhibition, including storyboarding, objects to model, live-action videos, and much more.

Bringing together more than 150 items, you’ll be able to see works on Wallace and Gromit in their many forms, as well as Chicken Run, Morph, Shaun the Sheep, and more. There won’t be many chances to see a storyboard from The Wrong Trousers before checking out Wallace & Gromit’s motorbike and sidecar from Vengeance Most Fowlso any superfans of Aardman’s work had better celebrate 50 years of the animations at the exhibition.

You’ll learn about the entire creative process of how a character comes into being, from starting out in a sketchbook to being shaped into a model and being filmed in production.

Speaking on the new exhibition, Alex Newson, Chief Curator, Young V&A, said: “Aardman quite literally began on the kitchen table, when two young school friends started experimenting with animations at home. Even though Aardman is now one of the most successful animation studios in the world, its films still have the same handcrafted feel.

“It is this ‘thumbiness’, as they refer to it, that makes the films so charming and well-loved. This is also what make the story so great for children. While Aardman’s films are now made by large and highly skilled teams it’s also possible for anyone to have a go at making their own stop motion films at home with minimal equipment and experience.”

‘Inside Aardman: Wallace & Gromit and Friends’ lands at the Young V&A on February 12, 2026 and runs until November 15, 2026. Tickets are on sale now, and you can find them here.
