Alison Taylor
Alison Taylor is a Chartered Accountant and banking executive with a particular focus on the charity sector. In 2019, she became CEO of CAF Bank and Charities Aid Foundation Financial Services, providing financial infrastructure and services to charities across the UK. A passionate advocate for the role of charities in British society, Alison is focussed on helping charities to build financial resilience and fundraising capabilities.
Previously, Alison spent many years leading different teams within HSBC Corporate Banking and formed part of the team leading the separation of HSBC’s ring-fenced bank, joining the HSBC UK Executive Committee in 2017 as Chief of Staff. Prior to transitioning to banking, Alison worked for a number of years at Deloitte.
In addition to her role at The Wallace Collection, Alison is a trustee of Shelter, the National Campaign for the Prevention of Homelessness, and a volunteer with Westminster Connects.
Alison became a Trustee of The Wallace Collection in November 2021, and subsequently took on the roles of Chair of the Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee and then Deputy Chair. Having been a member of the Collection for many years, Alison is particularly focused on maintaining the exceptional quality of the Collection for future generations and increasing access for people who might otherwise be less likely to visit the museum.
Alison Taylor has been reappointed for a term of 4 years, commencing on 1 December 2025.
Remuneration and Governance Code
Trustees of the Wallace Collection are not remunerated. This appointment has been made in accordance with the Cabinet Office’s Governance Code on Public Appointments. The appointments process is regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments. Under the Code, any significant political activity undertaken by an appointee in the last five years must be declared. This is defined as including holding office, public speaking, making a recordable donation, or candidature for election.
Alison Taylor has declared no such political activity.

- The Wallace Collection is a collection of the fine and decorative arts formed in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries by 4 successive Marquesses of Hertford and the 4th Marquess’s son, Sir Richard Wallace. It was left to the British nation in 1897 and opened as a national museum in June 1900 in Hertford House, Manchester Square, W1, a Grade II listed building in central London. The museum is internationally famous for its collection of French eighteenth-century art, European and Asian arms and armour and for its Old Master paintings.
