a still from 'Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl', showing wallace and gromit on either side of a box, out of which is strolling a robot garden gnome

Yup, you read that headline correctly. London will soon be home to a restaurant in a floating gravy boat. The strange opening is the result of a collaboration between Bisto (you know, the gravy folks) and the beloved claymation duo Wallace and Gromit.

The restaurant itself is inspired by the final chase scene in the recent (and award-winning) film, ‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’. It will touch down at Paddington, bobbing away on the water, from February 19-20treating guests to an ‘eat, meet and greet’ experience. There are three sessions each day, running at 12pm, 3pm, and 6pm.

The restaurant will serve a set menu full of Bisto-infused delightsthat will set diners back a measly £15. It all kicks off with a gravy cocktail upon arrival. Once they’ve settled in, diners will tuck into a Bisto-infused roast with all the trimmings. To wrap up the meal they’re promising “a delicious dessert with a sweet Bisto gravy sauce”.

Oh, and before you depart the gravy boat for solid shores, you’ll also get the chance for a meet-and-greet. Wallace, Gromit, and Feathers McGraw will all be on hand to say hello. There will even be a replica of the blue diamond from the film. But is it safe from McGraw?

BISTO X WALLACE & GROMIT

The floating gravy boat restaurant is part of Bisto’s new partnership with Wallace & Gromit. The collaboration extends beyond the restaurant into grocery stores. Shoppers have the chance to win a £1,500 lab-grown blue diamond – just like the one from the film – inside special Bisto packs. Other potential prizes up for grabs include all manner of Feathers McGraw-themed merch.

Said Kate Drew, from Bisto:

“We wanted to celebrate the launch of our partnership with much-loved duo Wallace & Gromit – and what better way than an ‘eat, meet & greet’ experience on a canal boat inspired by the latest movie. The Bisto Gravy Boat restaurant will bring together both brands for fans to enjoy, giving them a chance to enjoy a delicious meal and meet their favourite Wallace & Gromit characters in real life.

“What’s more, shoppers across the country can also enjoy the collaboration with packs of Bisto Favourite Gravy Granules unlocking amazing prizes, from a brilliant blue-diamond to collectable merch. The Feathers McGraw slippers are a personal favourite.”

You’ll have to act fast if you want to eat a special meal inside a floating gravy boat. Tickets are available here (for free), and they’re expected to sell out fast!
