However, both the distance and the duration of this walk depend on how much you want to explore Holland Park – sometimes rather confusingly here, Holland Park, can refer to an area, a park or a street.
The Holland Park area of west London is often known as ‘celeb central’, and if it is often said you’re never far from a rat in London then you’re certainly never far from an Ed Sheeran house in Holland Park.
His London property holdings, part of his reputed £60 million property empire, includes at least three homes in Holland Park.
But let’s begin with Elton John’s mews house.
Turn right when you exit Holland Park tube station and walk along Holland Park Avenue. Turn right into Addison Avenue, cross over and turn left up Addison Place.
Cross Queensdale Road and walk up Queensdale Place.

Elton John’s London base since the 1990s is number 4, the rather modest – well, modest compared to some other mansions we will see – mews cottage.
Retrace your steps and turn left down Queensdale Road and the right down Norland Square back to Holland Park Avenue.
Cross over near Holland Park station to the Ukrainian Embassy and walk up Holland Park, following the street to the left.
Number 23, definitely a mansion, is the Beckhams’ London home.
Continue up Holland Park and turn right up Holland Park Avenue again. Turn up the first right, Holland Walk, which goes alongside the park itself.

The park covers about 22.5 hectares (56 acres), with a northern half made up of semi-wild woodland, the central section of formal garden areas, and the southernmost section used for sport.
Holland House is now a fragmentary ruin, having been devastated by incendiary bombing in 1940, but the ruins and the grounds were bought by London County Council in 1952 from the last private owner, the Sixth Earl of Ilchester.
Enter the park by the first available entrance on the right.
You need to exit the park via the Ilchester Place gate (on the opposite side of the park) but how long you spend exploring is up to you.

and ParkGo straight ahead along Ilchester Place when you leave the park. Ilchester Place leads into Melbury Road and cross the road as it begins to bear right. Across the road you will see the Tower House, a gothic revival mansion, owned by the Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
Next door, on the right as you look, is the Woodland House, these days owned by Robbie Williams.
Continue down Melbury Road and turn right down Holland Park Road. Then turn right along Addison Road and the left along Addison Crescent before turning right into Holland Park Villas Road.
Holland Park Villas Road is a broad tree lined street of large mansions that is home to Simon Cowell among others.

Turn left down Lower Addison Gardens, cross Holland Road and just before the railway line turn right down Hansard Mews. About halfway look out for the old boundary marker on the wall of two homes.
At the end of the mews follow the road to the right and across the main road and roundabout is Shepherds Bush station and Westfield London with plenty of places for refreshments.
