We’re mere moments away from London’s annual Christmas glow-up. The city will soon transform into a tangle of tinsel and twinkling lights, as we welcome back beloved bars, markets, restaurants and ice rinks for another year of festive fun. Adding to this year’s flurry of Christmassy bars and restaurants is Tipis on the Green; London’s very first sustainable Christmas pop-up.
Opening on November 17, Tipis on the Green will be bringing the cosiest of Alpine vibes straight to Parsons Green.
Picture glistening fairy lights, vintage decorations, retro ski memorabilia, and firepit tables for you to sit around and soak up the merriment. It’s all après, no ski – just how I like it. And it’s completely free to enter – Merry Christmas, indeed.
Indulge in comforting après-ski dishes such as tartiflette and wild mushroom arancini, and wash it all down with a Chistimas Negroni or a Bailey’s hot chocolate from the bar. A jam-packed roster of festive events will be taking place in collaboration with premium tequila brand Pimentae Drinks, including wreath-making, bottomless margarita brunches, and a sustainable Christmas panel discussion for those of you dreaming of a more sustainable Christmas.
This winter pop-up is presented by Raw Tipis, a company truly committed to reducing their environmental impact. They have carefully considered each and every service and product to ensure that their sustainability values are being reflected throughout the event.
Zero emission electric generators will be used throughout the venue, and food waste and biodegradable items (such as containers and utensils) will be being turned into compost. The loos will be compost toilets, which will significantly reduce water consumption, and many of the decorations and furniture will be pre-loved and upcycled items.
If all that wasn’t enough to convince you, the pop-up will also be raising money for a local community charity, Hammersmith & Fulham Giving. This event is – quite literally – the gift that keeps on giving.
So, don your cosiest jumper , jump on the trusty old District Line, and head on down to Parsons Green. It’s certainly the closest I’ll be getting to an Alpine ski chalet this winter.
