London’s Outernet will soon play host to yet another poignant and powerful display as Antarctica: The Melting Silence arrives on its giant floor-to-ceiling screens next week. The groundbreaking film will mark one of the most ambitious immersive environmental projects in historyand will shine a light on the importance of protecting Antarctica – one of the last great wildernesses on our planet.

Directed by Alex Wolfthe immersive experience will blend cutting-edge technology with environmental activism, and will transport Londoners straight to the heart of Antarctica – which is currently under threat. The creation of the film has been supported by many leading environmental organisations, and the launch at Outernet will kick-start a year-long campaign.

The innovative display will show in groundbreaking 25k resolutiontransforming Outernet’s one-of-a-kind wraparound screens into the Antarctic wilderness. The experience will offer visitors an up-close-and-personal look into the fragile beauty of the frozen continent, and highlighting the urgent threats its facing from the likes of climate change, industrial fishing and pollution.

Alex Wolfdirector of the film, said: “This is a beautiful, touching, and meaningful project for me – a way to turn care into action, and technology into something more human. It’s also a deeply personal and artistic statement: Antarctica’s beauty is fragile, and so is our future. This project is our way of saying that we still have time to act – and to protect it.”

Philip O’ForrallCEO of Outernetsaid: “Outernet was designed to be a canvas for the most important stories of our time. ‘Antarctica: The Melting Silence’ perfectly demonstrates how our immersive technology can create unprecedented emotional connections between audiences and urgent global issues. By transforming our digital canvas into the Antarctic wilderness, we’re not just showcasing technological innovation, we’re helping to inspire meaningful action for one of the planet’s most critical ecosystems. This collaboration with leading environmental organizations exemplifies Outernet’s commitment to using our platform for powerful storytelling that drives positive change.”

Antarctica: The Melting Silence will launch at Outernet on April 22 and will remain there for public viewing until April 2026.
