The Trotters will return to South London later this year when Only Fools and Horses The Musical comes to the Churchill Theater in Bromley. The popular musical, which had a successful four-year run in the West End, begins its UK tour in September, with Bromley as the first of 31 tour venues.
The popular stage production is based on the beloved BBC TV commission written by John Sullivan which aired between 1981 and 2003. The show will be directed by Caroline Jay Ranger, who also directed the recently opened Fawlty Towers – The Play currently in the West End. .
The musical will feature scenes and scripts taken from original Only Fools episodes along with dialogue and original music written by John’s son Jim Sullivan and Paul Whitehouse. The show will feature the familiar theme songs from the original series that audiences will recognise, along with new music written by Jim and musical contributions from Chas & Dave.
Comic genius Paul Whitehouse will reprise his role as Grandad for the tour and will be joined by West End actor Sam Lupton as Del Boy Trotter. Philip Childs will play the role of the grandfather when Whitehouse is unavailable, as he did in the West End.
Del’s younger brother Rodney will be played by Tom Major, who will make his professional theater debut during the tour. The line-up will also include other notable West End actors, including Georgina Hagan, who will reprise her role as Raquel, Craig Berry who returns as Boycie and Nicola Munns who returns as Marlene.
Also joining them are original West End co-stars Lee VG as Trigger, Bradley John as Denzil, Peter Watts as Mickey Pearce and Darryl Paulas as Mike.
