Asda’s ‘Kids Eat for £1’ cafe meal deals will continue to run in over 205 Asda Cafes all year round and not just during the school holidays. The retailer last year served more than 115,000 meals over the two-week Easter holiday which was a lifeline for many families.
The supermarket launched the offer for children under 16 to enjoy a hot meal in any of its 205 cafes in June 2022 and has now served over 3 million meals to children in its cafes across the country. The meal is delivered without extras such as a minimum spend for adults.
The children’s menu has dishes such as Penne Pasta with meatballs and a vegan pasta meal Hidden Veg, along with fish fingers, chicken nuggets and all day breakfast, there is also the option to swap chips for a salad or peas.
Kris Comerford, Asda’s Chief Commercial Officer said; “We know that families are preparing for the Easter break and for many households this can put further pressure on already tight budgets. Our Children Eat for £1 initiative is designed to help families manage this juggling act and since we launched the initiative in June 2022 we have been able to serve over 3 million meals. I am delighted that we have been able to extend this offer year-round and hope that it will support many more families in the coming weeks.”
