McDonald’s is to make a significant taste change to all its beef burgers, with the new recipe rolling out across the UK from the middle of this month. When McDonald’s celebrates 50 yearsTh anniversary this year, the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with cheese and its Cheeseburger variants including double and triple will all get a flavor change.
McDonald’s has made changes to the way they cook and prepare their beef burgers. From adding onions on top of each patty while cooking on the grill for extra flavor, to changing the beef patty’s brow.
The changes include:
Grilled onions – New processes involve adding garlic to the grill on top of the steaks while they are cooking, for extra color and a charred flavor.
Salad – Fresh salad straight from the fridge.
Meltier cheese – Hotter beef patties so the cheese oozes over the sides, creating a smoother texture.
New buns – A new buttery brioche style recipe for a soft and pillowy textured bun – freshly toasted to order.
“Another big part of this transition has been about our restaurant teams and how we can support them in delivering the best possible customer experience. Not only have we introduced new kitchen technology, but we’ve also trained all 177,000 crew members in these new procedures so that they should be able to serve our best hamburgers to date.”
Following the success of the changes in both the Australia and US markets, the restaurant’s new burger tweaks are now being rolled out across the UK and I. The new processes are designed to incorporate higher quality and flavor into the beef.
