New information may have just been revealed when We are all dead Season 2 is finally out.
The hit K-drama – which can be streamed on Netflix stateside – has been waiting a long time for its second episode as fans are eager to know what has become of the high school crowd caught up in the show’s zombie apocalypse.
season 2 / We all are Dead was officially greenlit as early as June 2022, but since then there hasn’t been much word on when the show will return to television screens.
When will All of Us Are Dead Season 2 be released?
Thanks for the recently updated agency info, first indication of when We are all dead Season 2 could be released, it has apparently been announced.
The news comes via an Instagram post by BH Entertainment, the agency group representing series star Park Ji-hu.
In the image promoting the actor, the talent group listed, We are all dead (which when translated from Korean to English comes out as Our school now) Season 2 as part of Park’s “2024 lineup.”
This is the first time a date has been set We are all dead Season 2, and while it’s by no means an official announcement, it could mean fans will hear from the series again before the end of 2024.
The series was said to start shooting in the first quarter of 2024, but there are no signs that it has started yet.
According to insider Loftsedfau X (formerly Twitter), filming for season 2 will take place “first half of 2024.”
If filming wraps up before the end of June 2024 and Season 2 follows a similar six-month post-production schedule to Season 1, fans can likely expect the hit series to hit Netflix sometime in early 2025.
However, if this post from BH Entertainment is to be believed, it’s also possible that the series will return before the year’s release, coming to Netflix sometime in late 2024.
What happens in All of Use Are Dead Season 2?
Plot details We are all dead fall short, but there has been some teasing about where the high school zombie drama will go next.
According to series director Lee Jae Gyo “The story itself was set with season 2 in mind” platform, and “If season 1 was a survival episode for humans” Season 2 will be approx “zombie survival season” (via What’s on Netflix):
“The story itself is set with Season 2 in mind, so if Season 2 comes out, it might be a bit more interesting and an expanded story. If Season 1 was a human survival episode, there’s a sense of humor, but Season 2 feels like it’s a zombie survival episode.”
While it’s unclear what Lee means by this cryptic tease, it likely points to a change in the tide in Season 2.
Season 1 focused on the show’s core group of high school students defending the undead.
Season 2 could see teenagers taking up arms against zombies, going on the offensive to hopefully rid the world (or at least their environment) of the bloodthirsty beasts.
The series’ first batch of episodes ended on a cliffhanger, with the half-zombie half-human Nam-ra re-emerging, and it was unclear how the group was going to deal with their now flesh-craving friend.
Could Nam-ra be the key We are all deadn sophomore year trouble? Possibly the next chapter of this story could focus on trying to find more of these undead with little humanity left to see if they can develop some sort of cure.
We are all dead Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
