Netflix is reportedly not about to release Virgin River Season 6 some time after the disappointment was updated in a new report.
Virgin River season 6 is getting an unfortunate delay
According to a recent update from Deadline, which revealed delays for several upcoming Netflix seasons, Virgin River will be released in full in 2024, as Season 6 won’t premiere until 2025.
This means Virgin RiverThe first year off after its premiere in 2019. The most recent episodes were released in November 2023, and will conclude Season 5 with a two-part celebration before the holidays.
This comes despite previous assurances from showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, who assured Glamor that he was “going to do (her) best to make sure” fans are not expected to see new episodes until 2025:
GLAMOUR: “Do you think we’ll have to wait until 2025 to get new episodes?”
SMITH: “I’ll do everything I can to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
When is Virgin River season 6 coming out?
Virgin River is currently gearing up to begin production on season 6 soon, and production is said to be from February 2 to May 17, 2024.
Looking at past seasons, Season 4 ended in December 2021 and was released in July 2022, seven months later, while Season 5 filmed until November 2022 and came to Netflix in September 2023, a slightly longer ten months later.
If Season 6 were to follow a similar pattern, it should premiere in the first quarter of 2025, possibly as early as January, but more likely closer to March.
Patrick Sean Smith has previously teased Deadline about how he’s been doing “no plans to decide anything” on Virgin River in the near future.
Provided the show continues to be successful on Netflix, fans can likely look forward to more episodes and seasons beyond season six in the coming years.
