It has been filled with imagination, creativity, and a very special visit that put the school in the national spotlight.

We were delighted to welcome the BBC Breakfast team, who spent the morning capturing the buzzing atmosphere of our celebrations.

They were incredibly impressed by the effort put into the costumes and the palpable love for reading that flows through our corridors. It was a proud moment to see our pupils representing the school so brilliantly on national television.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly an extraordinary workshop by A F Steadman, the author of the sensationally popular Skandar series.

The children were absolutely enthralled as she shared the secrets of her elemental world, from the fierce warrior unicorns to the power of the Island.

Her journey from aspiring writer to international bestseller was truly inspiring, and her workshop on creating elemental characters sparked a wave of creativity across all year groups.

Seeing so many children arriving at the gates dressed as their favourite characters reminded us why events like these are so vital.

It wasn’t just about the costumes; it was about the shared joy of a great story.

Following the author’s visit, we encourage all families to visit a participating bookseller to exchange their World Book Day tokens for a free book or use them for £1 off a full-priced title – continuing the celebration of reading at home.
