The teenager was rushed to a major trauma centre

A 17-year-old boy has stabbed outside a row of shops in Dagenham yesterday evening (March 11). The teenager was attacked on Valence Avenue, near Chadwell Heath station, at around 6.30pm.

He was treated for a single knife wound by paramedics and rushed to hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement this morning.

No arrests have been made in connection and enquiries are ongoing, the force added. Witnesses are urged to come forward to help in the investigation.

A spokesperson said: “The Met knows violence of this nature is a real concern for Londoners. We are getting more officers out on the beat and putting more resources into teams that tackle serious violence on the capital’s streets.”

The London Ambulance Service took the teenager to a major trauma centre, where he is now recovering.

The Service added: “We were called at 6.32pm on Wednesday (March 11) to reports of a stabbing on Valence Avenue, Dagenham. We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a paramedic from our tactical response unit.

“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a patient for a stab wound and took them to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

Anyone with information should contact 101, quoting CAD 6343/11MARCH. Anonymous reports can be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.
