The Full Potential event took place at Jacksons Lane and recognised the success of care-experienced individuals through Haringey Council’s employability programme, which supports them into work.

A total of 61 young people have registered since the programme launched, with 15 work placements secured so far – 11 of them within the council itself. Eighteen have progressed into paid employment at London Living Wage or above.

Cllr Ruth Gordon, cabinet member for placemaking and the local economy, said: “Today is about recognising the ambition, resilience and talent of our young people. Full Potential reflects our belief that every care-experienced young person deserves the strongest possible start, and I am incredibly proud to celebrate their achievements.”

The programme, focused on care leavers in its first year, is delivered by Haringey Works and the Drive Forward Foundation, and will continue to prioritise those facing the greatest barriers.

Cllr Zena Brabazon, cabinet member for children, schools and families, said: “We are committed to creating environments where our care-experienced young people feel supported, valued and able to flourish. Their determination and achievements are truly inspiring.”
