Lendology CIC, in collaboration with Merton Council, has taken another step in supporting energy efficiency initiatives across the Borough by donating £500 to Thinking Works.

Thinking Works are a local not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping vulnerable households in Merton improve their energy efficiency and reduce fuel poverty.

They are commissioned by the Council to do this, and the partnership means Merton will often refer those in need of support to Giles Read (pictured above) and his team at Thinking Works. For more information on Thinking Works, click here.

Merton Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Civic Pride and Climate Change, Councillor Eleanor Stringer, said:

We welcome Lendology’s donation to Thinking Works, who provide a vital service to residents in Merton facing fuel poverty.

The Home Energy Efficiency Loan, funded by Merton Council and managed by Lendology CIC, is the only one of its kind in London. Merton recognised that while many residents own their homes, finding the money to invest in energy-saving improvements isn’t always easy, and traditional bank finance can be hard to access.

The low-interest scheme gives residents upfront support to make their homes warmer and healthier, with costs spread over timescales that suit them. By installing measures which cut energy use, residents also reduce their energy bills.

For more information on how Merton Council can support you to improve energy efficiency, please visit the Merton Council website.
