Comedy favourite Tweedy The Clown returns this spring with Tweedy’s Massive Circus: The Big Number 2a brand new show bursting with classic clowning, mischief and mayhem. Following a smash‑hit tour, an Edinburgh Fringe run and standout London performances, Tweedy is back with a bigger and even more daring circus adventure.
Armed with a ‘little’ big top, a wildly imaginative set of ideas and a brilliant cast including Sam Goodburn and Charlie Bicknell, Tweedy promises an unpredictable, joy‑filled experience for audiences of all ages. The show brings together traditional circus skills, original comedy and Tweedy’s unmistakable vaudeville charm.

You’re bringing Tweedy’s Massive Circus: The Big Number 2 to various locations across Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire – what can you tell us about the show?
A posh land owner, Lady Crinklebottom, has booked the massive circus — unfortunately it’s tiny and the acts are a no‑show.
Tweedy has a plan to make it massive with some super‑grow liquid he’s found, and with his sidekick Sam he reckons they have all the acts covered. What could possibly go wrong? Probably everything.
You’ve described this year’s show as bigger, bolder and even more bonkers. Where did the inspiration for the new ideas come from?
The character Lady Crinklebottom is a mix of ladies I’ve met in the Cotswolds.
The inspiration for the rest has probably been cartoons and 1950s children’s television.
The ‘little’ big top has become a signature part of your touring world. How does working in such a tiny tent influence the style or energy of your performance?
It mean’s everyone is super close to the action, making it feel like everyone is part of the show.
There’s nowhere to hide or fake tricks — everything is real, right in front of you, and interactive.
 
 
 
 
You’re joined on this tour by Sam Goodburn and Charlie Bicknell. What can audiences expect from your collaboration with them?
Both are great and funny performers in their own right.
They bring fantastic characters to complement Tweedy and a wide range of crazy circus skills.
You’ve had an extraordinary career spanning circus, theatre, TV and film, and were awarded a BEM for your services to circus. How does this new tour reflect where you are creatively right now?
Having my own show gives me the creative freedom to create my own clown world.
Creating shows that the whole family can enjoy — there’s nothing better than seeing three generations all laughing together, creating lifelong memories.
What would you say to anyone thinking of booking to see Tweedy’s Massive Circus: The Big Number 2?
Do it! Everyone needs to laugh and have an escape and this is the perfect way to do it.
