Producers have announced full casting for the major UK tour of I’m Sorry, Prime Ministerthe final chapter in the much‑loved Yes, Minister universe. The production opens at Cambridge Arts Theatre on 19 May 2026 and will tour until 1 August 2026.

The show is currently playing at the Apollo Theatre in London’s West End until 9 May 2026, following its acclaimed premiere at the Barn Theatre. Tickets for the tour are now available via imsorryprimeminister.com/uk-tour/.

Clive Francis will reprise his role as Sir Humphrey Appleby, a performance he originated at the Barn and now continues in the West End. He will be joined by Simon Rouse as ex‑Prime Minister Jim Hacker. Princess Donnough also returns as Sophie, with additional casting to be announced.

Written and directed by BAFTA Award winner Jonathan Lynn, co‑creator of Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Ministerthe production is co‑directed by Michael Gyngell. The play offers a final instalment of British political satire, filled with bureaucratic manoeuvring, wry humour and nostalgia.

The story follows an older Jim Hacker hoping for a quiet retirement at Hacker College, Oxford, only to find himself abruptly cancelled by the college committee. Sir Humphrey steps back into his world, bringing his trademark love of bureaucracy, Latin and carefully timed obstruction. Together, the pair must contend with students, Fellows and the ever‑shifting state of modern politics.

The original television series Yes, Minister and its sequel Yes, Prime Minister remain landmark examples of British political comedy, winning several BAFTAs and earning a strong cross‑party fanbase. The franchise has enjoyed major stage success, including a West End run and two UK tours.
