Euston station’s big screen will be showing adverts again, although not quite as eye-burningly bright and big as last time.

Network Rail says that it plans a two-week trial to test advertising content on the screen’s outer sections from Monday 2nd March.

They say the trial was developed with feedback from customers and stakeholders, drawing on lessons learned when the full-width screen was first introduced in 2024 and swiftly turned off following an outcry about its effects.

Some of the changes being applied include adverts that do not cause distraction and adhere to neurodiversity guidance, and they will dial down the brightness to maintain a comfortable concourse environment.

The central section of the screen will be retained for departure and customer information and won’t show adverts.

So, from Monday 2nd March, for a couple of weeks, at least, expect adverts on Euston station’s big screen. Any decisions about making the adverts permanent will follow feedback reports during the trial.

In related news, Euston station will soon get a new customer service hub on the station concourse, and they will be adding a lot more seating on the main concourse, mostly near platforms 4-7. Those works will be carried out over the next couple of months.

They’ve also recently completed removing the two freestanding departure screens and replacing the floor tiles with the originals kept in storage to restore the 1960s flooring.
