?The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) joined colleagues from the Thames Valley Police (TVP) in a joint Project Servator deployment across Reading.
Project Servator is a specialist policing tactic that aims to disrupt a range of criminal activity, including terrorism, while providing a reassuring presence for the public through highly visible and unpredictable deployments. Project Servator officers are specially-trained to spot tell-tale signs of criminal intent and work alongside security staff, local businesses and the general public to build a network of vigilance.
The CNC worked alongside a specialist facial recognition team with drone capability to disrupt criminal activity and reassure the public. Several stop searches were conducted throughout the deployment and officers spoke with members of the public about the importance of remaining vigilant and reporting anything that seems out of place or unusual.
Acting Inspector Dockerty said: “This is just the latest example of our joint deployments, with Harwell officers working alongside our Home Office colleagues in a busy environment to utilise their Project Servator skills. Joint deployments enable us to further our experience and share best practice to help keep our communities safe.”
