Theatre Channel has announced a new international partnership with Australian Theatre Live, bringing six celebrated Australian productions to global audiences.

The collaboration aims to open the door for UK theatre lovers to discover a wide range of Australian storytelling, from inventive Shakespearean adaptations to contemporary works exploring identity, family and social change.

Chris Wheeler, Managing Director and Co‑founder of Theatre Channel, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Australia Theatre Live to bring these outstanding productions to audiences around the world. Australian theatre is bold, inventive, and full of heart. These titles capture it perfectly.”

The featured titles include Taming of the Shrew from Queensland Theatre, reimagined on the set of an Italian silent film. Also streaming is Awaya co‑production from Sydney Theatre Company and Malthouse Theatre, which follows three families navigating upheaval during a summer holiday.

Griffin Theatre Company’s The Dapto Chaser offers a raw and comedic look at the pressures of dog racing culture, while Queensland Theatre’s Return to the Dirt follows one man’s unexpectedly life‑affirming year working in the funeral industry.

Redline Productions presents This Much Is Truecentred around the vibrant, chaotic patrons of an inner‑city pub, and Whitefella Yella Tree from Griffin Theatre Company tells a tender love story between two teenage boys on the cusp of Australia’s colonial declaration.

Theatre Channel describes the partnership as part of its mission to offer audiences a comprehensive digital theatre hub, while Australian Theatre Live continues its commitment to preserving and sharing Australia’s stage heritage through high‑quality digital capture.
