Production images have been released for the world premiere stage adaptation of Mrs Armitage on Wheelsnow playing at Southbank Centre as part of Imagine until 21 February 2026.

The new musical is adapted and directed by Samantha Lane, Artistic Director of Little Angel Theatre. Inspired by the award winning BBC animated series Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasuresthe show features inventive puppetry and original music by Jessie Maryon Davies.

The cast includes Gillian Kirkpatrick as Mrs Armitage, Thomas Walton as Breakspear and James Keningale as Ensemble. The production brings to life the story of the eccentric inventor Mrs Armitage and her dog Breakspear as they embark on a bike ride filled with endlessly imaginative upgrades.

With horns, snack trays, umbrellas, a dog bed and even a sail added to her bicycle, Mrs Armitage’s inventive spirit sparks a joyous tale celebrating creativity, community and the thrill of invention.

The creative team includes Ryan Dawson Laight for set and costume design, Maia Kirkman Richards for puppetry design and direction, Robbie Butler for lighting design and Ian Oakley for sound design.

Developed in association with Eagle Eye and Little Angel Theatre, Mrs Armitage on Wheels – Live On Stage is suitable for ages 3 and above, with a running time of 50 minutes. Tickets begin at £20.
