Pedal & Post was “one of the UK’s most innovative cargo bike delivery companies” with operations in Oxford and London.
But on January 26, the delivery company announced it had ceased trading, resulting in the loss of 60 jobs.
With heavy hearts, Pedal & Post’s journey has come to an end after 14 years. Following the loss of a major client and exhausting all options, we’ve closed our Oxford & London sites. Thank you to everyone who supported better, bike-powered city deliveries. pic.twitter.com/sVugo6xv4i

Pedal & Post said: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news that Pedal & Post’s journey has come to an end after 14 years.
“Earlier this year, we lost a major client. Despite exploring every possible avenue to continue – and truly exhausting all options – we have reached the point where we can no longer sustain the business.
“As a result, both our Oxford and London sites have now closed.
“We want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported Pedal & Post over the years: our clients, partners, riders, staff, and the wider community who believed in what we were trying to achieve. Your support meant everything.
“Since our founding, Pedal & Post has worked tirelessly to show that cargo bike deliveries are not just possible, but practical, sustainable, and better for cities.
“Over 14 years, we’ve helped remove countless vans from urban roads, reduced emissions, and shown that a people-powered delivery model can deliver excellent service while putting cities first.
“While this chapter has come to a close, we firmly believe this is not the end for cargo bike logistics.
“The landscape today looks very different to when we started – with major carriers now investing in low-carbon, bike-based urban delivery models and the cargo bikes themselves being worlds apart from when we started as early adopters.
“We’re proud to have been part of that shift and to have helped pave the way.
“Thank you, once again, for being part of our story and look forward to seeing more cargo bikes in the UK.”
Evri customers affected by the closure of Pedal & Post
The closure of Pedal & Post has reportedly now begun impacting Evri customers.
The two delivery companies announced a partnership back in January 2024, with Pedal & Post charged with delivering Evri parcels to all homes in Oxford’s Zero Emission Zone.
Following the closure of Pedal & Post late last month, some customers in Oxford have reported that Evri parcels are not being delivered, while others have been left waiting for up to two weeks.
One person affected, according to the Oxford Mail, was Carol Leonard, who lives in Grandpont (Oxford).
She claimed that three of her parcels, ordered on January 29 and 31, went missing for well over a week.
During that time, she was told her parcels were both out for delivery, while also being informed that there was no record of them.
The shop she had purchased the parcels from, which uses Evri, ended up providing her with a refund.
Evri eventually apologised and shipped the items out to Ms Leonard on February 10.
Other people in the area have also reported disruptions, with Evri now confirming they have been impacted by the closure of Pedal & Post.

An Evri spokesperson said: “We successfully deliver more than 900 million parcels each year, with industry-leading on-time delivery rates.
“We were disappointed to learn that our e-cargo bike delivery partner in Oxford ceased trading without notice, which caused some temporary disruption for a small number of customers in the local area.
“We have quickly re-organised deliveries in the area, and our local team are working hard to resume normal service.
“We have spoken to Carol to apologise for her experience and are pleased to confirm her parcel has been delivered this afternoon.”
