All schools and colleges should be working towards meeting 6 core standards by 2030:

Meeting these core standards will help make sure you have the essential infrastructure and governance to:

  • have a strong digital strategy
  • make informed decisions to get the best use out of your digital technology
  • use digital technology safely and securely
  • meet the other digital and technology standards

You should continue to refer to all the standards to support the effective use of digital technology in your school or college.

  • Know how to use or move to cloud solutions for your school or college, including managing access, availability, data protection and backup.

  • Make sure your school or college has proper network switches and switching infrastructure for reliability, security and resilience.

  • Make sure you choose the right servers and storage for your school or college, including security, energy efficiency and suitable environments.

  • Use the latest wireless network standards for performance, coverage, management and security in your school or college.
