Battersea Power Station might just be the most festive landmark in London this Christmas, thanks to Apple’s Your Tree on Battersea Competition. Earlier this winter, Apple invited aspiring artists across the UK to pick up their iPads and draw their own take on a Christmas tree, with 24 winning design entries being projected onto Battersea Power Station’s iconic chimneys in rotation throughout the holiday season.

The winners have been selected, and since December 4 they’ve been on display along with commissioned works by the likes of Sir Stephen Fry, Kylie Minogue, David Shrigley OBE and more. It’s safe to say the unveiling was a night to remember, with British Comedian Munya Chawawa hosting the switch on event. But who are the people behind these fabulous designs? 1. Jack Dubben

Jack created his beautifully bauble-adorned tree with the unique characters of London in mind, hoping to inspire his college students with an uplifting message of self belief.

2. Lucy Dixon

Illustrator and painter Lucy’s tree was inspired by prepping vegetables on Christmas morning. The unique layered texture of her design was created using a stippling technique.

3. Pietro Spina

Pietro’s Christmas tree reimagined through vibrant peacock feathers is a true symbol of joy, celebration and creativity.

4. Samantha Shannon-Oliver

Honouring the memory of her younger sister, Samantha’s vibrant geometric design symbolises growth, connection and the welcoming of new opportunities.

5. Susan Birchall

A long-time lover of Battersea Power Station, Susan wanted to create something bright and colourful that would stand out against the building.

6. Nygilia McClain

Nygilia’s design reimagines the tree through a celestial lens. With its unconventional, vessel-like form, this expression of otherworldly imagination captures a sense of cosmic joy.

7. Varsha Simha

Varsha’s Snuggle Tree is inspired by the warmth and cosiness we all crave in the cold months – compiled of Santa’s little minions who’ve cuddled up to create the cuddliest tree around!

Mister Hope loves all things fantasy, and Battersea Power Station’s vast chimneys seemed like the perfect place to house their towering festive giant.

Adam’s wonderfully colourful tree is inspired by the mysterious present that has been sitting under the tree for days, filling everyone with anticipation and excitement.

11. Paul Brown

Spikes, triangles and layered branches are what jumps to mind when Paul thinks of Christmas, and his tree combines all of them, with bright baubles radiating warmth and comfort.

The magic of unconditional, long-lasting friendship is what Matt’s tree symbolises, and the wonderful way that these important people inform the traditions we make.
