It’s no secret that we love London, but as it turns out, so does the rest of the world. According to a new report by eDreams ODIGEO, which analysed search and booking data, our capital is the most searched for holiday destination of 2025.

A city that offers everything from the best cuisine in the world to historic buildings, we don’t blame holidaymakers for wanting to see what all the fuss is about.

London beats out other major cities

After recently being named as the best city in the world for the eleventh year in a rowit’s hardly surprising that when people sit down to pick their next trip, London hits the top of that list. Other cities closely following us in the top spot were Paris, New York, Tokyo and Bangkok, but ultimately didn’t have as many people searching for them as we did. See the full top ten rankings below:

  2. Paris
  3. New York
  4. Tokyo
  5. Bangkok
  6. Barcelona
  7. Rome
  8. Milan

When it comes to holiday goers actually booking their trips, London also scored high up on the list, taking the fifth spot on the most-booked destinations globally in the last 12 months. The nations most wanting to explore our city come from Germany (19%), Spain (18%) and France (14%). London isn’t the only place gaining attention from incoming travellers, with other cities like Manchester and Edinburgh ranking among the top UK destinations being searched for.

  2. Paris
  3. Palma de Mallorca
  4. Madrid
  5. London

  7. Istanbul
  8. Lisbon
  9. Amsterdam
  10. Malaga

Where were Brits most keen to travel to in 2025?

Now we all know that the rest of the world wants to pack their bags and head to London, but Brits’ top searches for holiday destinations were Paris, Bangkok and Amsterdambut other cities like New York, Dubai and Barcelona were also on the list. UK travellers were also keen on short breaksof around 3-4 days being the optimum time period, in 2025, with 35% of bookings fitting this criteria.

Trends for 2026

According to the report’s search data, for Brits, Bangkok is set to be our most searched destinationfollowing global trends in the most-booked destinations for 2026. However, other cities such as Rio de Janeiro are rising up the list for top booked destinations for next year. Suddenly, I feel myself being pulled to use my annual leave and book that next big adventure.
