the sun setting behind big ben and the houses of parliament in london

Unlike myself, it’s pretty tricky to take a bad picture of London, isn’t it? From bridges and buildings to castles and clocktowers; our capital city certainly isn’t short on eye-catching monuments. And the same goes for plenty of the other picture-perfect cities scattered across Europe, to be quite honest. In fact, with so many good-looking landmarks dotted across the continent, it’s ever so hard to know which of them are most worthy of a coveted spot on your Instagram grid, right? But luckily for us, the camera connoisseurs over at Adobe have done the hard work for us.

As Europe begins to snuggle up beneath a blanket of gorgeous golden leaves, ready for the cosy season; the lovely lot over at Adobe decided to sift through some of the continent’s best-looking landmarks to uncover which are the most photogenic of all.

They researched and ranked the most ravishing monuments in Europe using factors including TripAdvisor reviews, TikTok searches, Instagram hashtag data, and Google search volume. Taking everything into account, they were then able to collate a very good looking list of Europe’s best landmarks for photo opportunities. And – you guessed it, folks – a legendary London landmark earnt itself a comfy spot on the list.

Our beloved Big Ben was named the third most photogenic monument in Europe, and we’re feeling ever so smug proud about it. With an overall photogenic score of 45.51; Big Ben had a rather hefty Google search volume (22,780,000to be precise) and one of the highest TikTok search volumes on the list (352,000if you’re interested). It’s nice to know that London’s iconic and oh-so impressive clocktower continues to attract visitors (and their cameras) from far and wide to this very day.

The most photogenic landmarks in Europe (according to Adobe):

  1. The Eiffel Tower, Paris
  2. The Sagrada Familia, Barcelona
  3. Big Ben, London
  4. The Colosseum, Rome
  5. Charles Bridge, Prague

So, whether you’re a serious photographer or a casual snapper, get your cameras at the ready, folks, and start working your way through the list. Starting with London, of course.
