This winter, one of London’s most picturesque spots will be transformed with a dazzling light display that draws inspiration from a classic book. Neverland at Kenwood will take over Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath with a Peter Pan-themed display that will transport visitors to a magical land full of child-like wonder.
Whether you’re taking young family members or are a child who never really grew up yourself, Neverland at Kenwood is set to be a gorgeous wintry display. The outdoor light trail will bring JM Barrie’s classic tale to life, from November 21 through to January 3. And tickets are on sale now!
Plus, the trail is more than just a charming sight to light up the winter nights. It’s also raising money for a good cause. In 1929, JM Barrie gifted the rights to Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), and Neverland at Kenwood will be supporting the GOSH Charity. Every ticket includes a £1 charitable contributionwhich will go towards “cutting-edge medical equipment, groundbreaking research, vital support for patients and families and the rebuilding and refurbishment of hospital wards and buildings. ”
Along the Neverland at Kenwood trail
Visitors to the trail will “follow Tinkerbell’s fairy dust path from the rooftops of London to the heart of Neverland”. Along the way, impressive lighting installations will take visitors past, into, and through the likes of the Darling family home, a glowing Big Ben, and the Lost Boys’ hideout. You’ll also find the spooky Skull Rock and Captain Hook’s iconic pirate ship along the way.
But it doesn’t just stop at the lights! Visitors will also find street food, winter warmers, and hot chocolates along the way. Neverland at Kenwood is set to transport everyone to “a wondrous world where magic and adventure capture the imagination.”
Getting to this Neverland is a far sight easier than it is for Peter Pan and Wendy. There’s no need to head to the “second to the right and straight on till morning”. Instead, simply head to Archway or Golders Green and take the 210 bus, which drops you off nearby.
It’s important to note that there is no parking at Neverland at Kenwood, except for blue badge holders.
