Radiohead playing show in California in 2017

Radiohead are officially hitting the stage againhaving not performed since August 2018. They’ll play shows in Madrid, Bologna, London, Berlinand Copenhagen to mark their return to the live arena, with four shows planned in each city before the end of the year.

The band heavily teased fans yesterday, as flyers started appearing advertising the shows before any official announcement, and many debated whether they were indeed legitimate. Any lingering doubt has been put to bed, with Radiohead set to play in London on November 21, 22, 24, & 25 at London’s O2 Arena.

Prior to the London shows, they’ll play in Madrid & Bologna, with the shows in Copenhagen & Berlin taking place after they’ve finished their residency at the O2 Arena. These four shows mark the band’s first in the capital since a trio of intimate nights at the Roundhouse in 2016 on the A Moon Shaped Pool touring cycle, with their last arena show in London coming with a double-header of O2 Arena shows in 2012.

Speaking on social media, the band’s drummer, Phillip Selway, said: “Last year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it. After a seven year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us.

“It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates. For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead.”

How to get tickets to see Radiohead

This one’s a bit different to how you might be used to. Due to the inevitable heavy demand (these are their first shows in over seven years and this is Radiohead we’re talking about…), anyone hoping to attend the show will need to register for their place in the ticket sale (remind you of sales for Oasis, Taylor Swift, and the like?). You can do this on the Radiohead website, with the registration window opening this Friday, September 5 at 10am UK time and running through until Sunday, September 7 at 11pm.

Those who have registered will then be able to access the ticket sale on Friday, September 12, using their unlock code. You’ll be able to purchase a maximum of four tickets for your chosen night.
