The cast of Shakespeare for Every day of the Year on the stage at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, holdiing umbrellas over their heads

If your idea of a perfect bank holiday Sunday involves sunshine, Shakespeare, and a star-studded line up of actors; allow us to point you in the direction of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Next weekend, Allie Esiri (poetry-extraordinaire) is returning to London’s legendary outdoor theatre – and she’s bringing with her an award-winning cast of stage and screen actors, ready to pay homage to the timeless work of the Bard.

Following the success of last year’s sell-out event, Shakespeare for Every Day of the Year – Live is based on Esiri’s bestselling poetry anthology. The evening will see a selection of Shakespeare speeches, scenes and poems brought to life by a cast of highly-esteemed actors, each of whom have a special connection to both Shakespeare’s work and the outdoor theatre itself.

The likes of Damian Lewis (who spent a season playing Hamlet at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), Samantha Spiro (who performed in the theatre’s production of Much Ado About Nothing), Tony Robinson, Indira Varma, Olivia Williams and James Phoon will be taking to the stage – and that’s just to name some of the incredible line-up.

The evening will shine a spotlight on the life and legacy of the beloved poet and playwright, taking the audience on a spellbinding Shakespearean adventure. Taking place for just one night only, the unique event is set to be a hugely entertaining way to spend your Sunday evening in the city.

To grab a ticket before they sell out or not to grab a ticket before they sell out; I guess that is, in fact, the question…

Shakespeare for Every Day of the Year – Live will take place at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre on May 25. Find out more and book your tickets here.
