The Legend of Titanic opens at Dock X in Canada Water on July 25 and uses cutting edge technology to allow visitors to walk through the ship’s decks and explore the grand cabins and corridors in breath taking detail.
As well as interactive installations, and a 5D Augmented Reality walkthrough evoking the sights, sounds and smells of the ship, there are real life artefacts and replicas to explore.
Visitors can virtually explore each deck and cabin of the iconic liner. (Image: SetVexy) VR elements include a tribute to the Titanic’s heroic orchestra, who played as the ship sunk in April 1912.
The 120-minute experience is designed to let visitors get a glimpse of what it was like to be a passenger on the ship’s maiden voyage which ended when it struck an iceberg.
Ticketholders get into the spirit upon arrival when they enter Dockside Boarding – an Augmented Reality reconstruction of Southampton Harbour, where they receive their boarding passes and gather for a virtual greeting from Captain Smith himself.

As the exhibition progresses, they walk through the humble third-class corridors before entering the main hall where information panels provide social context curated by historians.
From there, guests step into a first-class lounge, which highlights the opulence that made first class travel aboard the Titanic an unparalleled experience.
On display are a selection of original artefacts, including china, silverware and personal items as well as props from the Titanic movie and replicas of costumes.
After that, visitors enter the iceberg projection mapping room which brings the towering mass of ice to life, and showcases the iceberg that changed history.
Next, guests arrive at one of the standout features: the Virtual Reality Room “Until the Orchestra fell silent!”, where they experience a tribute to Titanic’s orchestra.
In an emotionally charged sequence, guests will be immersed in a newly composed piece by René Merkelbach, inspired by “Nearer, My God, to Thee,” believed to have been the final song played aboard the ship.
Thereafter, visitors enter a huge immersive showroom with 360° floor-to-ceiling projections that will submerge them in the depths of the Titanic.
The projections provide an unprecedented perspective on the ship’s journey, from its construction at Belfast’s Haarland & Wolff shipyard, to its journey across the Atlantic and sinking with the loss of 1500 lives – and current state on the ocean floor.
The emotional narration focuses on the story of the Callaghan – a fictional father and daughter who were passengers on board.
Information panels also share details of the real life passengers, the myths, legends, survivors and victims.
Families can enjoy an activity room where kids can draw their own Titanic illustrations, play an interactive puzzle quiz, and use AI and facial recognition technology to transform into 1912-era passengers, virtually dressed in historically accurate costumes.
If they need a spot of refreshment the Café de Parisien, inspired by the original onboard café, offers tea and pastries in a stylish setting.
Tickets for The Legend of Titanic go on general sale on May 16. Adult tickets will be priced from £24 and children from £16.
