Amazon’s Spring Sale has arrived, bringing with it major discounts on top sellers, the best travel items and our favourite tech products, including headphones, Kindles and, of course, smartphones.

The standout offer we’ve spotted so far is on the Google Pixel 9 Pro, our top pick for an Android smartphone right now. It’s available at a significantly reduced price, dropping from £999 to £799 in this limitedtime sale on Amazon.

While it has gone down this low just once before, in February, this is still a rare discount on one of the most impressive smartphones you can buy. There’s a similar price drop on the larger Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, too, as that’s gone from its RRP of £1,099 down to £899.

Pixel 9 Pro

The Pixel 9 Pro is Google’s flagship smartphone, with a sleek design, a powerful Tensor G4 chip for smooth performance, and an impressive camera system. Its triple rear camera setup includes a 50megapixel main sensor, a 48megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 48megapixel telephoto.

In our handson testing for our Google Pixel 9 Pro review, we were highly impressed by the highquality photos in all conditions.

Like the regular Google Pixel 9 (also reduced in the sale), this is one of the most talkedabout handsets for good reason. It’s a brilliant first Android phone or a great option for those switching from an iPhone to Android. It’s made by Google, so it has a simple and intuitive operating system and interface, an impressive camera system, and powerful artificial intelligence (AI) features are onboard too.

Simon Cocks

The big selling point of Pixel devices? Google’s phones all run on the purest version of Android, so there’s much less preinstalled “bloatware” that you don’t want or need here. It’s just a smooth, userfriendly experience that’s as straightforward as using an iPhone. And, in testing, the latest Tensor G4 chip ensured everything was fast and seamless, whether switching between apps or using Google’s builtin AI tools.

The phone also looks sleek with its refreshed design and comes in a great range of colours: Porcelain, Obsidian, Hazel and Rose Quartz. It also has a bright and detailed 6.3inch display, so it looks as good as it performs. And, at 199g, it’s comfortable to hold and use daily without feeling bulky.

Tempted? Don’t wait around, as this deal won’t last. This is a great buy whether you’re upgrading from an older Android or switching over from an iPhone. As it’s one of the Spring Sale deals, it won’t last beyond the end of the event – 23:59 on Monday 31 March – so don’t wait around!
