Canary Wharf’s captivatingly colourful (and completely free to use) mini-golf course is, once again, preparing to tee off. Bridging the gap between golf course and art installation, the much-loved ‘Minigolf by Craig & Karl’ will return to Montgomery Square next month, just in time for London’s sunny(ish) season.

The course will be perched par-fectly amongst Canary Wharf‘s plethora of skyscrapers, injecting some much-needed colour into the (undeniably pretty drab) east London landscape. Designed by highly-acclaimed art duo, Craig Redman and Karl Maierit’s sure to be the most good-looking golf course you’ve ever seen, featuring playful geometric shapes, bold colours, and striking patterns.

The course has been created to be enjoyed by those of all ages and skill levels. Difficult enough to make it enjoyable, but not so difficult that the nearby buildings risk having a club angrily flung through their window, you know? And the very best part: it won’t cost you a single penny to use. Just turn up, head over to one of the stewards, grab your equipment, and have a putting great time.

If mini-golf doesn’t take your fancy, there will also be colourful ping-pong tables dotted around the area. And they’ll be free to use, too. It’s nice to know that not every activity in the capital city will require you to take out a small mortgage in order to enjoy it.

Minigolf by Craig and Karl will return to Montgomery Square in Canary Wharf on April 4 and will be free to play until October 5. Based on previous years, the course will be open between 12pm-6pm daily.
