Strawberries have long been associated with love. The goddess of love and beauty is the symbol of Venus, which is considered an aphrodisian, when chocolate is covered, strawberries are often found at the heart of romantic spread.
On Valentine’s Day this week, Love Fresh Berries – organization that celebrates strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and bearings – has shared three recipes with fresh, juicy strawberries to start your day.
For a ‘strawberry breakfast cheesecake’ for a pampering breakfast bed or a classic almond triplet with a strawberry spiral, these recipes will surely get your Valentine’s Day at a lovely start.
Strawberry breakfast cheesecake
Makes 2 | Prepare time + overnight soaking
4 Weetabix, 150 ml of milk, 300 g of natural yogurt, 4tsp Leaking honey, 200 g body and chopped strawberries
- Crumbled into a weetabix container and heat the milk in a microwave or in a small pan and pour Weetabix, stir to connect and then press into the container and smooth the top
- Combine yogurt and honey to half the strawberries to sweeten to taste. Spoon over the Weetabix base and cool down for at least 2 hours or until morning. Cover and cool the remaining fruits.
- When you are ready, the rest of the chopped strawberries and serve.
Strawberry almond -croissants
Makes 6 | Prep -10 minutes Cook time for 10-15 minutes
Ingredients: 100 g ready -made marzipan, 150 g strawberries, frame and sliced, 1 x 350 g packing croissant dough, 1 egg, beaten, for glass tea (optional)
- Heat the oven 200C/180c fan/gase value 6. Prepare a baking compartment with parchment or reusable mountain.
- Grate the marzipan with a large hole grate. Rye Croissant’s packaging and divorce 6 triangles. Divide the marzipan and strawberry slices between the dough pieces and gently roll from the shortest to the tip and shape the croissant – the rolling instructions are usually in the package.
- Place each croissant in a baking tray, glass with the egg if you use and cook for 10-15 minutes until golden and risen. Cool with the tray for 5 minutes before moving to the wire rack. Serve warm.
These are best eaten fresh from the oven, but they can be stored in an airtight container and updated in a hot oven for a few minutes. Glazing is not necessary, but gives a deeper color to fried croissants.
Strawberry salsa blinis
Fresh and pungent, Salsa’s basil really emphasizes the taste of strawberries.
Makes 16 | Prepare time for 15 minutes.
150 g trunk strawberries, 75 g cucumber, 20 basil leaves, 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 16 finished cocktail blinis, 75 g soft cheese
Salsa:
- Attach the strawberries and place in the mixing bowl. Half the cucumber for a long time and pour the seeds in the middle, then nicely and mix with the strawberries.
- Take 4 large basil leaves, roughly chopped and place in a small bowl with olive oil. Press the basil in the oil with the back of the spoon to release the taste. Stir a little salt and pepper then connect the strawberries. Book for 5 minutes to mix the flavors.
- Heat the blinis according to the packaging instructions and cool slightly. Spread with soft cheese, add the basil leaf and the top to the salsa and then serve immediately.
Tip – To get ahead, make a strawberry salsa mix up to 2 hours before serving, cover and cool.
