A Romantic Evening of Classical Masterpieces on 14 February 2025
This Valentine’s Day, one of classical music’s rising stars, Kasparas Mikužis, will grace the stage at St George’s Hanover Square for a night of exquisite piano music. Presented by Candlelight Concerts, the programme features Beethoven’s “Moonlight” Sonata, Chopin’s Nocturnes and Ballades, and other beloved works—all performed in the church’s stunning setting, illuminated by the warm, flickering glow of hundreds of candles on stage.
Kasparas Mikužis is a Lithuanian-born pianist who has already made a significant mark on the international music scene, appearing at prestigious venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, London Fashion Week and the Lithuanian National Philharmonic. He made his Wigmore Hall debut in December 2024 and has collaborated with the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra under John Wilson. A scholar of the Imogen Cooper Music Trust and recital scheme artist of the Countess of Munster Trust, Kasparas has performed in Lithuania, Poland, France, and the UK, garnering widespread acclaim for his expressive artistry and technical brilliance. Notable achievements include a concerto performance with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, an invitation to perform at the Lithuanian Presidential Palace, and 3rd Prize at the International M. K. Ciurlionis Competition.
Chris Guest, Artistic Director of Candlelight Concerts, commented:
“This special Valentine’s concert is the ideal way to celebrate the season of love. Whether you’re a dedicated classical music aficionado or simply looking for a one-of-a-kind romantic experience, this spellbinding performance, showcasing the talents of one of today’s very best pianists, will whisk you away on a musical journey.
“We love coming to St George’s Hanover Square, and our shows in the church always create a magical experience, with its warm ambience and unique charm. However, with the added romance of Valentine’s Day, our 14 February performance promises to be particularly special—a real treat for anyone seeking something extraordinary for the occasion.”
