1000-lb Sisters star Amanda Halterman has lost a significant amount of weight since gastric bypass surgery, and she recently celebrated with a brand new look. The unscripted series, which will premiere in 2020, focuses on the weight loss journeys of Amy Slaton and Tammy Slaton, but some of their other siblings have participated in weight loss themselves. Amanda, 43, did not appear on the show for the first few seasons because she was going through a divorce from her ex-husband David Halterman.




While many of the Slaton siblings struggled with weight throughout their lives, Amanda was always thin. Everything changed after that 1000-lb Sisters season 6 star got married and had kids. Now that her children are grown and out of the house, Amanda is focused on herself, starting his own weight loss journey. After losing a significant amount of weight, Amanda decided she needed a makeover, and she looked like a whole new woman. Read on to see her new look.


Amanda Halterman’s Weight Loss Journey

He had gastric bypass surgery twice


During 1000-lb Sisters in season 5, Amanda and her other sister Misty Slaton Wentworth announced that they would both be undergoing weight loss surgery on the same day. “Me and Misty have been seeing Dr. Smith”, Amanda told her siblings. Dr. Eric Smith is a bariatric surgeon who treated several other Slatons. Amy, Tammy and their brother, 43-year-old Christ Slaton, had already had surgery, so they knew Amanda and Misty were taking a risk. With the support of his worried siblings Amanda and Misty both had bariatric surgery on the same dayin March 2023.

This wasn’t Amanda’s first time under the knifebecause she had bariatric surgery in 2014, long before performing 1000-lb Sisters. Amanda lost over 300 pounds after her first weight loss surgery, only to find the weight coming back. After the surgery, Amanda has lost a lot of weight and looks like a brand new woman.

He didn’t make a hasty decision

Amanda didn’t rush her new look. In July, Amanda published by TikTok pictures of themselves trying out different hair colors and styles in the application. In some of the test photos, she’s rocking bright, colorful shades of pink and blue, while in one, Amanda has long wavy hair.

Amanda recently posted a TikTok where she gushed about a beloved family friend while showing off her new look. She cut her long hair into polished shoulder lengths. Amanda has had ups and downs in her time 1000-lb Sisters season 6, even getting into a huge fight with both Amy and Tammy. It’s unclear how much weight Amanda has lost, but it’s a significant amount because she looks like a different person.
