Golden Bachelorette’s Pascal Ibgui accuses Chock of being a stalker after breaking Joan Vassos’ heart

The Golden Bachelor rival Pascal Ibgui left the series when he realized that he was not in love with Joan Vassosand he’s now talking about Chock Chapple, one of Joan’s last two husbands, along with Guy Gansert. Pascal left The Golden Bachelor season 1 during his and Joan’s Fantasy Suite date in Tahiti, when he was worried that he might end up alone. However, she still has strong connections with Guy and Chock, the latter of whom has expressed a crush on her.

In an interview with Glamour, Pascal described Chock as a “stalker” when he discussed his behavior with Joan during group bowling, during which Chock dominated most of Joan’s time. Pascal said, “Oh God, let’s be realistic. We’re grown men. We’ve been through marriage, divorce. We’ve had our struggles, our pains and our anxieties, and it’s not that easy to say, ‘I’m in love.'” Chock was all over him to the point where he was ( like) a stalker.”

Pascal continued of Chock, a native of Wichita, Kansas, “I mean, it was like, ‘I love you, let’s go.’ Let’s do this, let’s do this.” And ‘Which side of the bed do you sleep on?’ That’s weird behavior. “I can’t wait to be with you.” Maybe there are no women in Wichita, I don’t know.

Pascal added that Chock asked Joan which side of the bed she slept on “inappropriate. Walking in, he said, “Let’s get out of here. Get out of here.” And then hovering over him while bowling, I think everybody was uncomfortable. I think Jordan (Heller) said, ‘Hey, take a break and Jonathan (Rone) said, ‘What are you doing.’ However, Pascal believed Joan understood Chock’s actions. He said, “I mean Joan is smart enough to understand and figure it out for herself.”

Pascal’s honest assessment of Chock’s behavior on the bowling group date may upset Joan if she ends up choosing Chock, especially since Pascal caused her heartache. Calling him a “stalker” is quite a strong word. However, it’s good that Pascal added that Joan was smart enough to figure it out on her own. The men’s dislike of Chock so strongly could also be due to jealousy. Not only did Joan pay so much attention to Chock, but Chock had the confidence to monopolize her time without caring what other men thought about it.

Although Chock was a bit strong at times throughout The Golden Bachelor, it was refreshing that he was open about his feelings for Joan. The show’s timeline is very fast, so people don’t have time to put up their walls or doubt like Pascal did. Chock and Joan had a magical double date at Disneyland and became even closer after her mother passed away. That traumatic event certainly made him reflect on his life. When Chock decided he wanted Joan, nothing was going to stop him from getting what he wanted.

Although Pascal is correct that Chock quickly moved in with Joan, his reaction to her shows that he is not a “stalker” or “strange”. During the bowling group date, Joan could have easily moved away from Chock and sat next to any other guy. The fact that she chose to stay with him shows that she likes the way he treats her. If his advances were unwanted, calling him a stalker might be justified, but Joan was very receptive to Chock.

Chock has not responded directly to Pascal

From 1 November 2024 Chock hadn’t responded to Pascal’s comments about him being a stalker. Instead, on Halloween Brake wedge posted a photo of himself next to one of the NFL players, Peyton Manning, to whom he bears a striking resemblance. He wrote, “Who am I going to dress up as for Halloween.” In the comments section of the post, fans agreed that Chock looks and sounds a lot like Peyton. Others remarked that he reminded them of Tom Hanks or Patrick Duffy. Whatever the case, Pascal didn’t seem to mind Chock because his attention was elsewhere.

Whatever his intention, Pascal’s costume received mixed reviews, with some finding it inappropriate, especially when he broke up with Joan, while others said it was hilarious.

Perhaps Chock’s post was a subtle dig at Pascal, who called her a stalker, but who herself dressed up as Joan for Halloween, which can also feel stalkerish and weird, especially considering how their relationship ended. However, the message may also prove that Pascal is not in Chock’s mind at all. The most likely scenario is that Chock and Joan ended up leaving The Golden Bachelor as a couple, maybe even engaged, and Chock is completely focused on her.
