Dalata Hotel Group Plc has announced the opening of its fifth hotel in London, the Maldron Hotel Shoreditch, which will create 45 new jobs in the local area.
The 157-room hotel is Dalata’s 23rd property in the UK following the recent launches in Brighton, Liverpool and Manchester’s Cathedral Quarter. This is Maldron’s second hotel in London, following the opening of Maldron Hotel Finsbury Park in November last year.
The addition of these five new hotels has created 217 jobs and expanded Maldron Hotels’ UK portfolio by 1,029 rooms. In total, Maldron Hotels now offers 4,535 rooms in 26 properties.
Dalata also manages three other hotels in the capital under its Clayton Hotels brand: Clayton Hotel City of London, Clayton Hotel Chiswick and Clayton Hotel London Wall.
The Maldron Hotel Shoreditch includes the group’s popular Grain & Grill Bar and Restaurant, offering a thoughtfully curated selection of favorite dishes. It also has a Red Bean Roastery coffee stand where customers can enjoy high-quality coffee made by a barista.
The hotel has earned sustainability certification, placing it in the top 10% of new non-domestic properties in the UK for best environmental practice. It has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating for its excellent environmental performance.
James Feeney, Director of Maldron Hotel Shoreditch, said: “We are so proud to open the new Maldron Hotel in one of London’s most stylish and vibrant areas. Unforgettable experiences start at Maldron Hotels and we are sure our guests will love our location.
Dalata Hotel Group CEO Dermot Crowley added: “We are thrilled to open Maldron Hotel Shoreditch, our fifth Dalata hotel in the city.
“Our expansion in the city is progressing in accordance with our strategy and London will remain a central location for us, given the significant opportunities offered by the market.
“With the opening of the Maldron Hotel Shoreditch, Dalata now has 5,080 rooms in the UK. With continued success, we aim to add a further 4,420 rooms in the UK over time, bringing our UK selection to 9,500 rooms.
“I would like to express my gratitude to our development partners and our local team for their hard work behind the scenes in preparing the hotel to welcome guests.”
