One of London’s iconic stores is famed for opening the Christmas part of its shop at an absurdly early time – and this year they’ve once again got in ahead of the September mark! That’s right, people: Liberty are back slinging the festive goods already as they opened up their Christmas store in the merry month of (-checks notes-) August?
Nobody panic, though – this isn’t a case of a confused store manager forgetting what month it is; just par for the course in which Liberty kicks off the Christmas celebration in London before all the other shops. After this, we can expect to see the others follow as the months go by and the late London sunsets become twinkles of Christmas lights.
Fancy a little look at what lies in store for you on the fourth floor of Liberty?
Yes, yes, yes. We know this Christmas cheer is very premature, but honestly – given the fact the summer hasn’t really ever given us a consistent run of sunshine, you couldn’t blame anyone for wishing to dive into the festivities. Obviously, we’re a long way from the market stalls and the glowing lights, but somewhere has to kick it all off – and in London? That’s Liberty.
Summer lovers? Look away now, this is just the start. Winter waltzers? Strap into the sleigh and enjoy the ride.
The Liberty Christmas Shop
Liberty is your port of call for an early Christmas gift with a luxurious twist. Swan through their sea of glittery glass baubles and purple snow globes to the red & green stockings and the grand wooden advent calendars. Pick these out in Christmas colour and stash it away ready for December 1 to tick one more thing off your to-do list, which is only going to grow as the year closes. Think about the tree looking extra festive adorned with your centrepiece decorations.
We’ll be keeping out eyes peeled for the annual drop of the Liberty Christmas tree which tends to look pretty incredible every time. We’re a while off from that right now, so ’til then it’s your place for a festive wander.
Find the Christmas shop open now on the fourth floor of Liberty, Regent Street, W1B 5AH (nearest station is Oxford Circus). Check out details of the store on their website.
