After what has seemed like an eternity of waiting (which converts to around nine months in the sneakerverse), the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 5 ‘Dusk’ has finally been confirmed. The latest collab between the James Whitner-owned label and Jordan Brand, some sneakerheads are already calling it their best work yet. Big praise!
Just like all of the other pairs that they’ve worked on together AMM’s take on Michael Jordan’s fifth silhouette is absurdly luxe. While most AJ5s are made from all-leather constructions, the ‘Dusk’ is crafted from panels and panels of black suede instead. The oversized tongue has been covered in a reflective finish and embroidered with the Atlanta-based boutique’s logo, and additional Nike branding is stitched around the back of each shoe.
The premium upgrades aren’t just surface level either, as the entire inner lining of the sneaker has been swapped out for a custom jacquard one that’s decorated with a monogram pattern. The insole has also been updated with exclusive graphics, and down below, the Air midsole features a bubble along the heel that’s printed with “A Ma Maniére” right across it. It’s then lined with a pre-aged rubber outsole for an archival aesthetic, and all of this is packed in a very special shoebox that comes with some very special accessories, which is always nice.
