Below deck, the Mediterranean Sea Season 9’s Elena Dubaich has been working hard on Mustique, but she’s constantly being up against fellow Stew Bri Muller he has proven to be the villain of the season. Elena, who goes with Ellie on Mustique, has worked in the boating industry for years and hopes that her time on a superyacht can help her take her career to the next level. Has appeared for a few episodes Below deck, the Mediterranean Sea season 7, Ellie is no stranger to the stress of working on a Bravo-sanctioned ship.
Elena’s time on Mustique is the first long-term assignment she’s had as one of the Stews working under Captain Sandy Yawn. Ellie has done her best to appear professional and has taken her role as Mustique’s second stew seriously. He quickly realized that although he and Bri had a similar experience, he was much more advanced in properly steering a superyacht. Taking Bri under his wing, he tried to make sure he could advise young Stew on how to approach his work and what to prioritize.
However, Ellie’s time in Mustique has not been entirely professional. During the first Charter of the season Ellie was assigned to take care of guests late at night when the rest of the crew, with the exception of Deckhand Gael Cameron, had gone to bed. The subscription guests were looking for the late night snacks they had mentioned they wanted on the preference form, but they wanted something more upscale than Ellie could handle. She decided to rouse chef Johnathan Shillingford from the couch to ask for help, but he refused.
When Ellie only sought help from the cook, she was shocked to find that he not only refused to help her in the kitchen, but also talked to Captain Sandy about it. Ellie was called out in front of the rest of the crew when the captain gave his views on waking the cook unless it was a total emergency. Even though Ellie wasn’t technically reprimanded, she felt uncomfortable being called out in front of everyone else, even though she felt like she had done the right thing for the moment.
Ellie’s personal life in Mustique has also been difficult. coming in Below deck, the Mediterranean Sea season 8 single, Ellie was sure she wouldn’t connect with any of the ship’s crew members. Knowing the dangers of boats, Ellie found herself attracted to Deckhand Joe Bradley, but Bri was also interested in an outside team member. The couple have been at odds over Bri’s choice to join Joe, and are having a hard time coming back from their beef. Like Below deck, the Mediterranean Sea season 9 continues, Ellie has become the clear villain of the show.

8 Ellie knows old age with little experience
He has been in the industry for less than 5 years
Although Ellie has more experience than some yachts Below decks franchise, he’s still a bit of an inexperienced stew. Ellie’s time at Mustique has been interesting as she was quickly named Second Stew above Bri, but the women have a very similar level of yachting experience. Although Ellie and Bri are on similar wavelengths, Stews doesn’t have the same work ethic. Ellie has been able to push herself to a new level of stew work, which makes it clear that he has honed his craft well.
Throughout the charter period Ellie had a sense of tenure that doesn’t necessarily feel earned. The way she carries herself in Mustique is interesting as she knows she is a capable worker and chooses to flaunt it in front of people like Bri who aren’t as skilled. He holds his own post in Bri’s heat, even though it probably shouldn’t exist.
7 Ellie took Bri under her wing for selfish reasons
He wanted to move up
At the start of the Charter season, Ellie worked hard to make sure she stood out from the indoor team. He explained that after years of working on superyachts, he was looking forward to his post on board and wanted to prove that he could become Cheif Stew in the future. Ellie decided to take Bri under her wing in the first few days of the charter season, making it clear to the audience that it was because she wanted to move on, but didn’t reveal it to Bri herself when she offered her help.
Throughout the charter season, Elena has put herself in a position of power over Bri. While he was clear that he had to help Britta as part of his position, he also did more than what was required of him. Ellie has put herself in a position of power to help herself get ahead, but came across as doing it out of the goodness of her heart.
6 Ellie thinks she knows everything, when she doesn’t

all the time Below deck, the Mediterranean Sea season 9, Ellie’s made it clear that even though she hasn’t been in the business long, she knows more than most of the rest of the Mustique crew. Elena’s behavior has been strange for someone in her role, because he is not the main stew in Mustique and has not been in the business for long. He’s been acting like he knows everything, and after the captain scolded him at the start of the charter season, he shouldn’t be so confident.
Ellie’s attitude has been hard to stomach, as she has often become arrogant during the charter season. His know-it-all attitude has not been pleasant for the rest of the crew to adjust to, and charter guests have noted Ellie during recent charters to be a little arrogant. His behavior has been hard on everyone but him.
5 Ellie felt possessive over Deckhand Joe Bradley

At the beginning of the charter, Ellie and Bri discussed the idea of boaters with each other, but Ellie wasn’t sure if she would be interested in anyone else on the superyachtt. Ellie’s feelings about cruises were interesting, as she was attracted to other members of the Mustique crew, but shared that she didn’t want to mix business and pleasure that way. Instead, she told Bri that she wouldn’t put her work on the line for a man on a boat, even though she flirted with Deckhand Joe whenever she could.
When Ellie and Bri started flirting at crew night, she was excited at the prospect of having someone to date. Although she wasn’t sure what she wanted from a relationship, she liked that Joe was interested in her. He made it clear to her that he wanted something more.
4 Ellie was not clear about her feelings for Bri
He tried to be aloof
During her time at Mustique, Ellie has felt like she’s made it clear to Bri and everyone else what she wants and needs. While her feelings for Joe seemed clear to him and Deckhand himself, Ellie’s feelings for the outside crew member were not made clear to Bri. The couple had talked about boating, but Ellie hadn’t said that she was interested in Joe or that she wanted something to progressshe’d just said she didn’t want to put her boyfriend before her job.
During crew night, Ellie said she was excited to openly flirt with Joe. The pair danced together and seemed to be enjoying each other, but Ellie didn’t notice that Bri was jealous as she sat on the sidelines. Bri told another crew member that she wasn’t happy about Ellie and Joe’s flirtingbecause she wanted Joe for herself.
3 Ellie thinks she has separated her personal and professional relationships
He mixes business with pleasure
Although Ellie has made it clear that she doesn’t want to mix business with pleasure, her actions don’t match her words. She’s been constantly flirting with Joe to the point where it’s clear that if something were to happen between them, she’d be fine with it. Instead of admitting that he’d better get on the boat, Ellie has been adamantly against the idea of hooking up with someonebut it’s obvious she’d change her tune if she really was going to try something with Joe.
Because of her attitude, Ellie has been sending mixed signals to the rest of the crew. Instead of saying she’s interested in Joe, Ellie told Bri she didn’t want to go there. This caused a disconnect between the pair, confusing Bri when she realized that Ellie was going to Joe.
2 Ellie treats Bri badly after saying she wouldn’t

When Bri and Joe’s hookup became public, Ellie struggled to understand how to proceed with either Joe or Bri. She said she was upset by Bri’s lack of clarity because Bri had clearly said she wasn’t interested in Joe, which is why Elena decided she wanted to go to Joe. Elena said it was hard for her to deal with the fact that Bri had broken the girl code so willfully and he didn’t know how to proceed in a personal relationship with Bri.

In the last moments of the last episode Below deck, the Mediterranean Sea season 9, Ellie was defiant towards Aesha during the central moment of the evening with the charter guests in Mustique. The guests, who all had modeling experience, wanted the crew to put on a fashion show for them, and Ellie wanted to dress to impress. When he took too long, Aesha called the radio to see where he was.
Ellie ignored the radio calls several times before finally contacting Aesha and telling her she would be staying a few more minutes. Mad, Aesha told him not to bother as they were late for the guests and I didn’t want to keep them waiting any longer. Ellie ignored Aesha’s request and showed up 20 minutes late, which annoyed her Below deck, the Mediterranean Sea Main stew.
