Spring cleaning season is upon us, and just in time, Amazon has knocked £100 off a well-reviewed Shark vacuum. Originally £249.99, the Shark PowerPro Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner is now £150. You can also get the vacuum for £179.99 at Shark and Currys.

The vacuum uses FloorDetect technology to sense the floor type and automatically adjust its speed. There’s anti-hair wrap technology to remove hair from the brush roll during cleaning, and an allergen seal to trap dust and allergens. The vacuum is designed to be flexible, with a wand that bends under furniture for easier cleaning. The vacuum is cordless and the battery is removable, and delivers up to 50 minutes of runtime from one charge.

Alternatively, you can try the VAX Pace Plus Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, which is £119.99 at VAX. The vacuum has 40 minutes’ runtime and transforms into a handheld device.

The vacuum is cordless and the battery is removable, and delivers up to 50 minutes of runtime from one charge.

Elsewhere, the HF1 Plus Flexi Anti-Hairwrap – Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is £99 at Hoover. It’s got a flexible wand and anti-hair wrap technology, and 45 minutes of runtime.

Back on Amazon, the Shark vacuum has 4.5 stars from 6,955 reviews. One person said: “Excellent product, well made, light and easy to use. The suction is very powerful and worked well on both hard floors and deep carpet. The battery life is sufficient to clean my whole (small) house and can be recharged within a couple of hours. I was very pleased with the tools for cleaning small areas and the five-year warranty.”

“It’s the best hoover I’ve ever had,” another shopper wrote. “I don’t know why I didn’t buy this sooner! It’s an absolute gem. It’s so handy, so reliable and I can easily get this out 10 times a day. It has headlights, it’s quick but thorough, it’s so light to handle and I love it. It folds down, is quick to charge and best of all it has a boost pull right under the handle. The battery time is fantastic. I hoover my three-bedroom house with carpets and hard flooring with great ease, in no time at all and it doesn’t run out.

“I even use the long attachment to do the ceiling edges and corners with plenty of power left. It takes about an hour to charge it back up. It folds down and is compact. It bends with ease to go under bedside cabinets and drawers at the click of a button. I have a heavy shark pet hoover which is virtually redundant now, although I will use it to deep clean now and again because this little magical cordless does the job extremely well.

“In fact, I actually like hoovering with this as opposed to constantly putting it off because of the heavy wired shark pet I have. It’s because of this, my house is a whole lot cleaner. There are three adults and a messy toddler living with me and this has been the best thing I’ve ever purchased. I recommend this at the highest level.”

But some people weren’t as pleased with the vacuum’s suction power. One disappointed customer wrote: “I’m very disappointed with this machine. I bought a Shark hoover thinking I was buying the best model after all the things I read it could do. But it’s heavy and awkward as you can’t stand it up without it falling over. When you take off the main head brush it doesn’t have the same suction power. So overall I wouldn’t recommend this machine to anyone.”

But another happy shopper added: “This is a great vacuum cleaner! It works well on my carpets and hard floors, good suction and very lightweight. Battery lasts a long time and I love that it is wireless!”

You can buy the Shark PowerPro Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner from Amazon, Shark and Currys. Get the VAX Pace Plus Cordless Vacuum Cleaner from VAX and the HF1 Plus Flexi Anti-Hairwrap – Cordless Vacuum Cleaner from Hoover.
