Mother’s Day is a great reason to book somewhere special, and I don’t know about you but my idea of something special is a really fancy lunch or afternoon tea in a beautiful restaurant. So if you have a mum or partner who likes the finer things like me and you’re looking for the best restaurants in London for Mother’s Day, whether that is a luxurious Mother’s Day lunch in London or a really special Mother’s Day afternoon tea, or an indulgent Sunday Roast, my guide has you covered.
1. The Dorchester – this luxury hotel is a place close to my heart and we used to visit The Grill as children. Now it’s been wonderfully modernised and this Mother’s Day will be serving an indulgent three course lunch with a British Sunday roast, including a selection of meat served with sides or seasonal plates such as fresh ChalkStream trout alongside spring vegetables.
Desserts include a pink rhubarb panna cotta and luxuriously rich chocolate mousse.
£125 per person.
Another option is Mother’s Day afternoon tea at the hotel in the hotel’s promenade with live music.
2. The Ritz – If you’re looking for the height of luxury, The Ritz is hosting a special three course Michelin-starred lunch their main restaurant. Every mother will receive a specially selected gift and will enjoy live entertainment.
Mothering Sunday Lunch at The Ritz Restaurant takes place on Sunday 15th March 2026, with prices from £250 per adult and £130 per child.

3. The Ivy Restaurants are one of our favourite restaurant groups and perfect for great food and beautiful interiors. Our absolute fave in Chelsea even has a beautiful garden. This year perennial favourites such as the world-famous The Ivy Classic Crispy Duck Salad and seasonal desserts like the beautiful Raspberry Bloom Parfait and Black Bee Honey and White Chocolate Cheesecake, served with mango sorbet, honeycomb are available on a set menu for 3 courses for £38.95 per person for lunch and dinner. Another option is the champagne breakfast which offers a choice of drink per person, including The Ivy Champagne, a Breakfast Mimosa, a classic Bloody Mary, or Wild Idol Naturally Alcohol-Free Sparkling Wine. Mini pastries with butter and preserves are served for the table, followed by a choice of main breakfast dish.

4. Scott’s One of London’s most beautifully elegant restaurants is actually my own mum’s favourite restaurants. Scott’s is best of British and specialises in fish and seafood. But be aware children under six are only permitted at lunch time on Saturday and Sunday, bank holidays and school breaks. There’s no children’s menu but I’d recommend a classic fish and chips!
Locations: Mayfair and Richmond.
5. Aqua Shard – Dining at the Shard is always a special experience, taking in the incredible views over London. Options are the Sunday Roast or the fun Peter Pan tea – perfect for the wohle family You can even pre-order fresh flowers to be at the table when you arrive.

6. Sketch – One of London’s most beautiful restaurants has two Mother’s Day options. There’s lunch in the three Michelin-starred restaurant with a five course tasting menu and a half a bottle of Champagne, La Grande Dame 2018 by Veuve Cliquot per person. 7. Lucky Cat This is a high end restaurant that welcomes children of all ages! The menu of Asian plates and robata grills is delicious and the weekend brunch is great value and would make a lovely option for Mother’s Day. Choose Bishopsgate to experience the views of what is currently the highest restaurant in London. The Mayfair option is great for a shopping stop off to buy mum something nice!
Locations: Bishopsgate and Mayfair.
8. Amazonico – A slightly off-piste option for Mother’s Day, we love this fun Latin American restaurant.
This Mother’s Day weekend they are offering their vibrant Asado family feast in the jungle style restaurant.
There is a bespoke menu of tropical and regional delights, starting with a complimentary glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne for every mum.
The Parrilla Mixta is the main dish with signature favourites including Cangrejo, Aguachile, and Ensalada Amazónica and finishing with a Mother’s Day special, fruity dessert, Babajito. There’s a live band and a real immersive experience of flavour, music, and culture.

9. Bacchanalia The dining room at this Greek / Mediterranean restaurant is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen and children will be entranced by the five statues designed by British artist Damien Hirst including a winged lion and a unicorn. There no children’s menu but plenty of crowd-pleasers on the a la carte. The ‘Roman’ Sunday lunch is great value and features magnificent operatic entertainment that my mother-in-law loves!
Location: 1 Mount Street, London, W1K 3NA

10. Nobu We love the Nobu Portman Square Sunday brunch. This brunch is every Sunday with a sushi buffet, choice of main course and dessert buffet. Usually the last Sunday of every month children’s entertainers Sharky and George are there to bring the fun but there is a bonus Mother’s Day Event on the 15th March so mums can relax while kids are entertained by the best of the best . Under 5s are free for brunch and under 12s are half price.
