2026 marks a whole 40 years since one of the most revered alternative rock bands came to be. In celebration of four decades, Pixies will be hitting the road for some anniversary shows, announcing a run across the UK & Ireland in May/June next year.

On the ‘Celebrating 40 Years’ tour, Pixies will play London’s Iconic Royal Albert Hall on May 28as well as gigs in York, Dunfermline, Manchester, Limerickand Dublin before a run in mainland Europe.

Expect to hear songs that span the band’s entire career, from the Steve Albini-produced work on Pink surfer to the wild brilliance of Doolittleand up to 2024’s The Night The Zombies Came. Pixies last performed in London earlier this year with a pair of nights at Brixton Academy.

Announcing the news on their Instagram page, the band said: “2026 marks the 40th year of the bands formation. In celebration we’re pleased to announce that we’re heading back on the road. Announcing the first of many tour dates for next year.”

Pixies tickets go on general sale this Friday, September 26 at 10amand you’ll be able to find them on Ticketmaster. An O2 Priority pre-sale for the Royal Albert Hall date is also taking place tomorrow at the same time, with a Metropolis pre-sale also running on Thursday, September 25.
