Global hotel brand YOTEL has announced plans to expand its presence in the UK and Europe with the opening of YOTEL Belfast.

Opening in late 2026, YOTEL Belfast is a new 165-room hotel located in historic Shaftesbury Square in Belfast city centre. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of some of the city’s main attractions, including Queen’s University and the Botanic Gardens.

YOTEL Belfast marks an exciting step forward in our global franchise strategy and strengthens our portfolio as the 35th signed hotel, bringing our total key count to nearly 8,000 .

“We are excited to partner with Andras Hotels, one of the leading and largest operators in the region,” Thakkar added.

YOTEL Belfast also offers a dynamic food and beverage concept. In addition, there will be a 24/7 fitness center and a meeting room.

The £17 million investment will provide a modern accommodation option for global travelers and create high-quality jobs for the community, making the hotel a key asset to Belfast’s growing tourism market.

“The development plays an important role in transforming Shaftesbury Square, physically revitalizing and bringing visitors to this important area. Our architects have done a fantastic job designing a building that is modern but sits comfortably within the local context.

“We are now starting the planning process and talking to community groups before starting development in 2025,” he added.

YOTEL’s expansion into Belfast reflects its wider strategy to increase its global presence by bringing its innovative hotel concept to more cities in Ireland, the UK and internationally. Known for its modern, technology-driven hospitality, the brand has a number of openings planned in key global destinations such as Tokyo, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

Submitting a Notice of Proposal to Belfast City Council is the first step in the planning process for the proposed development of YOTEL Belfast.
