Over the weekend, Yorkshire singer and social media star Liv Harland launched a new performance space at Xscape Yorkshire with an opening gig showcasing the centre’s ‘Busk Stop’. This designated venue allows buskers to perform indoors, giving local talent a safe and central area to showcase their music for free. Busk Stop, developed to meet the demand of buskers wanting to perform downtown, is open to singers and musicians who want to tap into Xscape’s steady flow of visitors.

Following Liv’s opening performance, which brought her Yorkshire-born song into the heart of the centre, the Busk Stop is now open to the public throughout mid-October and beyond. Performances will be held daily from 1pm to 5pm until Sunday 3rd November, with a rotating schedule offering patrons a wide range of live music and entertainment as they explore the town centre.

Jason Warren, Xscape Yorkshire Center Manager, commented on the initiative: “Having received direct requests from performers wanting to come to Xscape, it’s exciting that we can now provide a free-to-use designated safe space and hub at our point. It gives local singers and musicians the opportunity to play to a large audience and showcase their talents. In addition to being great for aspiring talent in our area, it of course adds another layer of musical entertainment to our guests.”

The addition of Busk Stop reflects Xscape’s commitment to supporting local talent and enhancing the visitor experience. Our own bus stop offers budding musicians a platform to reach a wider audience and allows guests to taste live music while they move around the city center. Xscape encourages interested performers to reserve a spot at the Busk Stop, ensuring that the area’s musical talent has the opportunity to connect with the community in a vibrant and accessible environment.
